Triple-Doubles are valuable stats showing how well a player performed in the game and how much he contributed to its team. There are 5 positive basketball basic metrics: points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks; and triples-doubles require at least 10 at three of those five. In this post, we have collected all triple-doubles statistics in the last 40 NBA seasons (starting of 1975-1976) and we analysed it in various aspects. Total of 1283 TD performed since then, both regular season and play-offs included.

The youngest player who recorded a triple doubles in an NBA regular season game is LeBron James. He performed that at age of 20 years and 20 days. Lamar Odom is the 2nd youngest, he did it at 20 years and 54 days. Magic Johnson is the youngest player with a TD in a playoff game at the age of 20 years and 273 days.

There are no TDs in NBA history made without points. Most TDs are made with points, rebounds and assists.

There are only two times a TD is performed with less than 10 rebounds: Mookie Blaylock with 14pts, 11ast, 10stl and Kevin Johnson with 17pts, 13ast, 10stl.

In addition these two, there are only three other TDs made with steals (at total 5). And at most 11 steals are performed in a TD. Whereas there are 57 TDs performed with blocks.
