    Why .44 x FTA rather than .5?

    • Gürhan Günday

(FGA + 0.44 × FTA) refers true shooting attempt. The .44 is an estimation of how many free throw attempts end a possession. If all the shooting fouls result in two free throws then we could use 0.5. But considering and1s, 0.44 is used as a general consessus.
